Forwood Elementary School's Car Rider Pick-up & Drop-Off Procedures

1. Parents & students must adhere to the parking procedures of the school.

2. All parents/guardians must stay in the vehicle (when possible) and let only the students enter or exit.  (We recognize that some of our younger students may still need assistance getting in/out of the car.)

3. Please make sure that your number is clearly placed in the passenger side window.  (New numbers are distributed at the Sneak a Peek Night in August)

4. All morning and afternoon pickups are made in the rear of the school. Early dismissals may be made in the front of the school. (no early dismissals will be granted after 3pm)

5. Please make sure that your student(s) is prepared to exit/enter the vehicle once you have pulled up to the circle.

6. If you need to help your child into the school, we ask that you park your vehicle in the rear or front parking lot.

7. What if your child is being picked up by someone who is NOT on your car rider list?   Please call the main office so that our secretary may notify the homeroom teacher.

*If you have forgotten your card or have no given it to the designated person responsible for picking up your child, you MUST park your car & report to the office to sign out your child. In order to verify the identity of the person picking up a child, PLEASE remember to have your picture ID ready for office personnel.

We have instituted this pick-up procedure for the safety of the students. With this policy, we are able to avoid mishaps that can occur without appropriate & safe release procedures. Although there may be an occasional inconvenience to you if you have forgotten your card, we hope that every parent/guardian will help us in improving this process. The safety of our students comes first. We thank you for your understanding and patience.
