It is with great pride that I receive the baton to become the proud principal of Maple Lane Elementary School.  I am no stranger to the Brandywine School District or to Maple Lane.  In September of 1987, I began my student teaching assignment in Brandywine as an Elementary Education major from the University of Delaware.  After graduating in January of 1988 and working until June of that year in the Christina School District, I was hired in August as a second grade teacher at Maple Lane.  One of the highlights of my career was being voted Maple Lane’s Teacher of the Year in 1997.

My journey throughout my time in the Brandywine School District has been revolving.  I started as a student teacher at Harlan Elementary only to return in November 2004 as an Assistant to the Principal and the following year to become the Assistant Principal.  My path then returned me in August 2006 to Claymont Elementary where I had taught fourth grade for seven years.  In reflection, I know that it was through divine intervention that this new elevation would return me to the special place where my career began – Maple Lane.

I wholeheartedly commit myself to maintaining great traditions and creating new ones.  It is my goal to support the Maple Lane staff as we provide an excellent education for our students.  We will continue to create a safe and happy environment where everyone who enters our building will see and feel how Maple Lane students and staff demonstrate our caring, courteous, careful, and considerate nature.

I thank you in advance for helping us “Achieve Today for Success Tomorrow.”
