Spanish Immersion Program

Offering children the gift of a second language

The Brandywine School District implemented year 1 of our Elementary Spanish Language Immersion Program at Maple Lane Elementary School in the 2019-2020 school year. This program provides  some of our youngest learners with an exciting opportunity to learn and engage in two languages and cultures - English and Spanish - during the school day.

During the 2018-2019 school year, two kindergarten and two first grade classes are participating in the immersion program. In subsequent years as the initial group of students progresses, the program will continue to expand to second grade and so on. Ultimately, the program will provide a continuous K-12 immersion pathway.

We are now enrolling kindergarten students in the immersion program for the 2019-2020 school year.
