    Balanced Calendar
Our calendar begins approximately three weeks early to reduce student’s “summer learning loss”. These days are given back to our students during smaller breaks throughout the year.

    Intersessions
Traditionally we offer two or three Intersessions during the school year.  During these intersessions, students may attend enrichment classes or receive extra help in reading and math.  Attendance at intersession is voluntary, but approximately 90% of Maple Lane students attend.

    Instructional Support Team (IST)
The Instructional Support Team is designed as a collaborative, problem solving process where teachers work collaboratively with colleagues to explore and implement changes to their instructional practice to address the specific needs of students.

    Leader Corp
Students from our upper grades are selected as leaders by their peers and teachers.  These students serve as role models for the younger children.  The students in Leader Corp perform many important duties such as helping the kindergarten students when they arrive at school, assisting at assemblies and helping out during intersessions.

    Positive Behavior Support (PBS)
PBS provides the framework for teaching and reinforcing our Maple Lane ABC's:
Always Be Careful, Caring, Considerate and Courteous
Maple Lane has been recognized as a PBS Star School for the past three years.
