    Education:

I, myself am a graduate of the Brandywine School District.  I started at Brandywood Elementary, attended Burnett and Hanby Middle and graduated from Concord High School in 2002.  I graduated from Susquehanna University in 2006 with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education

As a senior at Susquehanna I was awarded "Outstanding Future Teacher" of my graduating class.  I was a member of the field hockey team throughout my four years at SU and was the captain during my junior and senior seasons.  I also had the opportunity during the spring semester of my junior year to study abroad at the University of Wollongong in Australia

I have since become highly qualified in middle school science.  I also earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from West Chester University where I was awarded the Michael F. Bannon Scholarship for academic excellence.

The past few years I spent a great deal of time as a teacher leader for our district and the state of Delaware, working to implement the new National NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) in our middle school curriculum.  I look forward to learning from my work and infusing these new standards into my curriculum and instruction.

    Experience:

I started my teaching experience at Saint Elizabeth School in Wilmington, Delaware.  I taught 6th and 7th grade social studies and science there from 2006-2009.  This will be my tenth year teaching science here at Springer Middle School.

    Interests:

I am a very active person that is constantly on the go.  I love to support all of our athletic programs as well as the multitude of science enrichment programs we offer.

When I am not at Springer, I enjoy being out in nature or down at the beach with my husband Eddie, daughter Maddie, son EJ, and our black lab Sadie.  I also truly enjoy traveling and am still in awe of everything that I have been able to see and experience on the trips I have been able to take over the past few years, including the natural beauty we saw in our trip out to the Pacific Northwest this summer.  Currently, however, I am most in awe of my babies and get so much joy from watching them discover new things each and every day!

***I absolutely love to learn and therefore,  my top priority as a teacher is to inspire my students to truly become lifelong learners!!
