About Me
My Education:
I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology with a concentration in Healthcare from the University of Delaware in 2003. I continued my education and pursued my Master's Degree in Special Education from Wilmington University, graduating in 2005. I am dually certified in both General Education and Special Education. I am currently enrolled in additional Master's courses to stay up to date on new approaches and research in education.
My Experience: This will be my 11th year in the Brandywine School District. I have taught many grade levels including 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th and 7th grade.
Favorite Quotes:
"Fair isn't everyone getting the same thing. Fair is everyone getting what they need in order to be successful!"
"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." -Benjamin Franklin
Teaching Philosophy: I believe all students can learn when they are accepted for who and where they are in their educational journey. Effective learning requires a collaboration between teacher, students and parents grounded in mutual respect and trust. As a teacher, it is my goal to make each child feel that they matter, they are valued and that they are most definitely capable of success.
Personal Interests: I enjoy many things, but my most favorite are spending time with my family and friends, reading, going to the beach, and playing outside with my children.
