• 2nd Annual BSD/Parent Symposium

On Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from across the district parent leaders and building administration teams met for a half-day symposium on the topic of family engagement for the upcoming school year.  For the second year in a row, these various building leaders came together to review key data and feedback received directly from our Year-End Family Engagement Survey.  And for the second year in a row, we surpassed our targeted response rate - we heard from over 1,930 of our families representing all grade levels across the district.  Compared to the 1,600+ survey responses from the 1st Annual Sympoiusm, we had a lot to discuss, compare and analyze -- both from a district perspective and from the individual buildings.  THANK YOU to the many families who responded to this year's survey and for the leadership participation.  This two-way communication is critical for our long-term success and continued partnerships with our many families.

These survey results will continue to guide our strategic planning that has started over the summer months and develops into the new school year.  As part of that conversation, please click on the link below to review the Presentation outling the district-level results reviewed at the 2nd Annual BSD/Parent Symposium. (Give it a few minutes to load.)

If you have any questions or want to know more about the overall Year-End Survey process and the Symposium, please contact Ashley Dalzell-Gray, the district's Family and Community Liaison -- Ashley.dalzellgray@bsd.k12.de.us.  We continue to look for ways to share information like this with our many families.
