The Brandywine School District NO LONGER selects Choice students based upon a first-come, first-serve basis!

*This means that the DATE and TIME your Choice application is submitted will no longer have any bearing on whether or not your student is selected to participate in the School Choice Program.

Parents are strongly encouraged to read the laws governing the School Choice Program:  http://delcode.delaware.gov/title14/c004/index.shtml

     ABOUT SCHOOL CHOICE

The School Choice Program falls under Title 14 of Delaware State Law governing public education. The Delaware General Assembly established the program to “increase access to educational opportunity for all children throughout the State, regardless of where they may live,” and to “maximize parental choice in obtaining access to educational opportunities for their children.” A parents residing in Delaware may enroll his or her child in a public school in any school district in accordance with the law and if space is available.

Transportation to and from a Choice School is a parent/guardian’s responsibility.  Bus transportation will only be provided from an existing Brandywine School District bus stop and is dependent upon bus seat capacity.

Parents/Guardians interested in the School Choice Program are strongly encouraged to read the Brandywine School District’s School Board of Education Policy on the School Choice Program and Delaware’s State Law governing the School Choice Program.
