    Brandywine School District School Nutrition Program is committed to protecting and enhancing children’s health and well-being. Nutrition influences a child’s development, lifelong health status, and potential for learning.

    School Nutrition achieves these goals by providing students with nutritious and appetizing meals served courteously, in a sanitary and pleasant dining environment. School Nutrition is an integral part of the school learning environment. Nutrition education activities in the classrooms and the dining rooms support the comprehensive health education program.

    Connecting BSD Families with School Nutrition.  Parents can manage student accounts:  Make payments, view purchase history, receive low balance alerts, view school menus, nutrition and allergy information, and apply for meal benefits.  Students can use SchoolCafe to view menus, "Make a Tray" to build a meal for the day and see the nutrient information, give feedback, see balance information, answer polls and rate menu items.  Favorite specific items on the menu so you can know when they will be available in the cafeteria.  For more info, click here.

    Please send completed paper application to your child's school nutrition cafeteria.
     
    An eligibility notice letter will arrive in the mail within 10 business days of receipt. 
                
    3.   USDA MEAL STANDARDS
     
    USDA has announced new Meal Standards Flexibility for the 2017-2018 & 2018-2019 School Year.   Please know that we are committed to continue to provide nutritionally sound meals for all students with high food quality, including the incorporation of many from scratch recipes and products that meet our clean ingredient label standards.  We are proud to further develop our program this coming school year and provide the best meals possible to all Brandywine School District Students.
